Hello all, it’s a big day… please see the video attached, a friend of mine, a Land Rover fanatic came along, with the car having sat for so long he said, ok, first things first, let’s drain the fuel and get some fresh stuff in there… so , we did (I didn’t suspect it would help but) …. After a few tries starting , no joy, then one more for luck and BAM! Ticked over like a beauty… starts on the button now, even drove it around the block … so so happy, I don’t know if that was the initial thing, or one of the things added up with the bits and pieces I fixed like the grounding wires etc,, anyway. Next up, got to sort out the suspension, the back lifted itself very very slowly after starting; the front however did not, so the list continues… but regardless, it runs!!! Thanks for all the advice along the way
By the way, couldn’t seem to attach a video lol

Suspension will be the easy bit. Don't know why but I really like resolving suspension issues on these things...? Probably because so many people are so terrified of it and in reality, it's just not that bad at all.

I wish I had the time to "pop down" and give you a hand as you're in such a beautiful part of the world. I'd have to bring my bike as well. 🤔

Haha that would be fantastic! Well I’ve ordered a new Diag which comes Monday then I’ll start tackling these bits and bobs in the hopes to get it back on the road :) … I’m glad it’s not that bad regarding suspension haha… let’s see 🤞🤞

Which diag have you ordered? For your suspension you're going to need to see that it is building pressure and that you're getting increased readings. I would imagine that you have a split air spring on the front and that the compressor is weak. The rear should lift first and then the front (designed that way to not dazzle people with headlights when raising). They can suffer leaks from the air tank too BUT from my understanding, the compressor will lift the car first and then there's a changeover valve to fill the air tank once it's at the desired height so you should achieve that regardless of the air tank.

Now, I have a feeling that I've seen a port on the air lines by the compressor of an earlier car that you can use to fill the system with an external compressor but that may have been something somebody had modified. It might be a good test as if you compressor is weak it could be incapable of providing enough air to overcome a leaking air spring and just run until it overheats and gives up. A rebuild for the compressor isn't difficult but it's another thing you may or may not need to do to find your main issue if that makes sense.

Will have to digest that properly a bit later, thanks a lot , the diag I was recommended by my mate was the Kingbolen EDiag Elite, seems incredible for the price, can’t wait to give it a try.
