So the hopefully last update.
Car was back in the garage at 8:30am.
The box and the transfer case was ready to be fitted.
Clamped the water hoses from the oil cooler not to lose coolant.
New cooler in:
Removed the rad hoses too for a flush.
Then the box was in.
Started the filling process:
Then plugged the computer in to watch the paint dry aka waiting for the oil to reach 43c.
Funny thing I found was "transmission oil ageing: 80%" I am not aware of any oil quality/ageing sensor.
Then finally the time came.
Then after everything was topped up to an optimal level I reset the gearbox adaptation settings.
Then a quick MOT.
A bit of underseal for the sidesteps for the future.
The total cost was around £682.
After we test drove it, it seemed like it was still slipping but it was only for a short amount time/road then everything returned to normal.
After 2 hours of driving up and down - motorways, dual carriageways, hills and city driving there was no sign of FAILSAFE TRANS PROG on the dash.
I declare this gearbox fixed!
Tomorrow only pressure test left.
Thanks for all your input and help guys!
