Done a few searches and not come up with anything yet,

While turning only right, tight rights like roundabouts etc I get a knocking/ banging from the back, I've checked both half shafts, rear prop, a frame ball joint, and had it in the local landy specialist on the ramp checking diff play etc etc and havnt come up with any problems,

there is slight play in both bearings but try just need checking some new grease and tightening, but I can't imaging they are causing the banging round right hand corners,

so any one on here have any ideas to
what could be the cause,

Thanks for any advice

Harry

Are ye absoluletly positive it's comin' from the back? Sometimes it's hard tae tell where any noise is comin' from when ye're inside;)

Well from drivers point yea there's nothing in the back and it's a clear noise, fronts all
fine no issue with bearings or anythings recently changed front off oil and that was all
ok, can't find anything hanging about underthere either

Old owner put in polly bushes on the arms, there fine not cracked or spilt, rear shocks are 3/4 months old they shouldn't be gone but I will check that tomorrow,

The noises has a pattern, almost like
it's a certain point in a rotation of ther wheels, possible being the nearside wheel

Are your tires touching the radius arms ???? ( is there a polished mark on them ? ) . My O/S rubs going round sharp right hand corners .

I just cant be arsed to wind the stops out tho :) ..

.

no, only got A/Ts on for road driving, 235/85/16s, dont rub never had, and ive had that issue with my bigger muds

fair shouts then mate , was just an idear :) , sometimes the simple things are over looked :)

you say it's the back, but sure it's not front cv joint or exhaust knocking

It does sound like CV joint 0 but he does say hes checked them - having said that you cant tell unless you strip it down as they wont make a sound unless there under load ,,,

you could do a lot worse than get someone in the back listening to the noise-at least you will have an idea of where

doesn't make a intermittent whine, pulled a range rover diff with tooth missing

could be one of the planetry gears gota bit missing from tooth, that would make noise like you say on tight turns.

its whining like a bitch atm, ive had a new gear box put in/ clutch and tranny input gear,

ive had it back at the garage that did it all, and they think nothings wrong, im going to go to another place today for a second view,

if i have a tooth missing on either front or rear diff would have make a whining noise while there is power on/ when accelerating, when off the accelerator the whine stops, ive been told its just a noisy brand new gearbox.....

So it's knocking and whining, was thinking only knocking. standard diff???
still think the planetry gears could have missing bit of tooth or worn shafts in em causin knock. Whine is preload or worn crown/pinion, reckon it sounds like u need to dismantle diff.

its raining, ive gotta change the oil seal on the front diff!!

looks like the rear diff is coming off then, so dont think the whine is gearbox more likely diff related?! so annoying that noise travels, the other problem with all fours off the ground i cant get any of the noises to turn up!! and there isnt enough pressure!!

one I played with was a classic, vcu had seized and while pulling a lorry it sheared the tooth -noise was like intermittant diff whine.
