hi, can any 1 tell me what the loud banging noise is from the rear end when i go round left and right hand corners in my 2002 landrover freelander thanks phil

Try checking the exhaust is tight and brackets are secure

its not a small child in the back not seat belted in is it? or being a freelander maybe your curling iron and hair scissors have fallen out into the boot?

The rear diff mounts and subframe are notoriously prone to failure with these vehicles, along with pretty much everything else.
