Hi, I have a Freelander 1, 2001 reg (I've had it for 3 months and haven't got any past service history) and when I brake I have a knocking noise coming from the rear two wheels. It doesn't happen everytime I brake. Sometimes it's louder than other times.

I have had it in my local Land Rover Garage and had some work done on it. The garage picked up (in there words) Heard noise front, inspect under bonnet found o/s/f rear brush, lower engine tie mount has excessive play causing exhaust to hit ARB, recommend replace mount and retest. But this hasn't stopped the noise, just lined there pockets.

Before I put it back into the garage does anyone have any ideas of what it could possible be? The noise is definitely coming from the rear as I have sat in the back seat while my husband drove and heard it.

Could it be the ABS?

With people like you, no wonder people don't want to stay on here. As for gaylander - don't jump to conclusions on cars we own. This the smallest Land Rover in the household.
