Glad to hear it.
and a few more pics, does anyone think the general condition of the loom that goes to the ecu looks shoddy?
anyhelp much appreciated
Glad that you sound as if the Disco is running OK now.
While you're doing the EGR blanking did you notice how much oily muck there was in the inlet manifold? You might need to wash out the intercooler; another fairly easy job and well documented on the forum.
I see this time and time again - linking the condition of the intercooler with the EGR system. Sorry but it's just crap.
Think for a second, how do the exhaust gases get re-routed back into the inlet manifold? Via the intercooler - I don't think so !!!
They go directly from the exhaust manifold to the inlet manifold and into the engine. There's no way that EGR stuff has anything to do with reducing the efficiency or cleanliness of the intercooler.
When you see black gunk in the EGR valve or the inlet manifold, that gunk has come directly from the exhaust manifold.
Yes but it passes thru the EGR. So once blanked, that gunk can no longer reach the intercooler..
