Hello everyone
I have fallen into the trap of a diesel L322 after my last 4 Range rovers being V8's so I joined up to find info on what to keep an eye on and upgrades to prevent my investment going BANG!

I've never heard of a range rover being called an investment :p only slightly more economic than burning twenties in a wood burner
Welcome to the forum, I'd love a rangie but I'd spend all my time looking at the dash waiting for warning lights to come on:oops:

My last toy was a yacht which made burning twenties in the wood burner a cheaper option! ;p
I used the word investment as it has taken all my savings up and just like shares may go up but most likely crash when the interest in it wains, South West Scotland is the worst place in the UK to try and sell any vehicle privately!
We needed a tow car for the horse box and the next option was a Jeep grand Cherokee but after sitting in one I just walked away and took the risk!

A great car , I loved mine , only the autobox to beware of ( assuming its a 3.0 TD6 auto)

You didnt learn your lesson the previous 4 times, you sir are a legend.
My last RR was a P38 which threw every thing it could at me and I sorted it with love and lots of CASH then like a fool I decided to go diesel ML270 which we ran for a couple of years but sold it when the alternator clutch (pulley) failed which I fixed but during the process found out the alternators are £500 at cost never mind fitting.
That was 8 years ago so when we needed a proper tow car again my heart went with the RR and believe it or not everything works on this one!

Hi and welcome - take care for mentioning numbers - it will come back to haunt you. I have herd the term that boats are like standing in a cold shower ripping £20 notes up! Lol

Well everything was going fine until I left it parked up for 7 days, I can start it from cold no problem but after about 6 miles it cuts out with no warning and no faults showing on the display.
leave it for about a minute then push the money eating pedal to the floor and off again and it fires up and runs fine for about another 4-5 miles then it does it again.

I have read something this morning about the gearbox changing down a gear at the slightest incline and the engine revs increasing Lack of pulling power?) which could point to one of the low pressure fuel pumps not working to it's capacity but which one? I do feel it is struggling a bit at low speeds under 35 in 5th on the flat too.
I did hear a ticking noise from under the drivers side rear door area when it was at idle (I was standing next to the car) and it had just had one of it's episodes and that is where the secondary pump is I have since found out.

Has anyone had this problem? silly question I know due to the L322 being known to give many problems.:(

Like the Bingo Caller said... "Here we go.....Eyes-down, Look-in, Game-On".

Good Luck. The guys on here are terrific, if these blokes don't know the answers then a box of Swan-Vestas and a can of Petrol is your best bet.
