I have recently bought an 2006 model L322. It comes with full dealership service history and so far, everything works.

Yesterday I took the L322 to the local Eastern Europeans, who for a mere £8 washed it and removed all the mud.

As I started the car after the wash, the hazard lights came on, interior light came on and the door lock button failed to operate. Given the location of the buttons/electrics, I can only assume the pressure of the water has been fired in somewhere causing water to play with the electrics.

The car dried off and the problem went away. Does anyone have any useful advice on how to prevent this happening again or if there is a more serious issue I need to be aware of.

Many thanks

Never pressure wash anywhere near the engine bay, inside or underneath or on top. Several ECUs are situated there and damp can get in and cause them to fail. The ABS ECU for instance is designed so badly that the bottom of the connector acts like a saucer, collecting water and letting it run through onto the connection. Also, never pressure wash around the parking sensors as this will cause them to malfunction too. best go to a hand wash in future. you're just asking for trouble otherwise.

The symptoms you described are exactly what happens when the ECU has been told the car has been in a collision !

Can only think water has got into one of the crash sensors !
Lucky it didn't deploy the airbags ! Lol
