and looking at that pick it looks to be coming from heigher up and looks more like oil or could it be the p gasket does it disappear when the engine is hot if not then its oil

mmmm, just had another look, and yes, it does seem to be coming from above, and when I wipe with my finger - oil coloured....not good then - how much of a job is a 'p gasket'?

but will take it out tomorrow and get the engine hot, and see if it disappears when hot to double check - so might not be the core plug after all........

If its oil then its not the P gasket, more likely the exhaust manifold gasket
 
Well, got the engine warm, and the leak was still there, so looks like nothing to do with the core plug, just a coincidence that was recently replaced, and looks like an oil leak - so are these gaskets a major and expensive job to replace?
