Im considering spending some time / money smartening up our 300tdi disco.

I want to keep the rear seats, but the carpet in the back always ends up a mess (carrying wood, etc).

Im considering chequer plating the back, and just wondered if anyone did a nice, laser cut, job, with all the seat belts sorted etc.

I know it wouldnt be a hard job at all, but id still rather just go online with my credit card!

Never seen such a thing, there's plenty of external stuff. There's nothing to stop you in getting chequer plate custom cut to your pattern.

Just found this photo on the web -

its a diy job, removable, and backed on ply. Looks pretty good, i think.

My only issue is that, if i make it removable, im bound to get a layer of water under it, whilst if i make it permanent, i can seal around the edges.

Will obviously need access for the tank if permanent.

Loading bay liners for the D1 come as the picture but as a rubber mat as I have, or in plastic with raised surrounding edge to retain an rubbish/muck as necessary.

I purchased some rubber matting to cover the boot of my wife's car from a supplier on eBay, it was thick but easy to cut and lay down flat, even had a raised paw print patten to stop things sliding around. :)
