Good afternoon Freelanderer peeps.

Quick couple o questions for you.


Firstly

I met a very nice chap in Scotland last week who's missis was very distressed that a sparrow was trapped between the radiator and the front grill. (not as distressed as said sparrow)

It's not going to help any of them now, but I couldn't see how the blessed radiator grill could be taken orft and seeing as my missis wants to replace her mondeo with one I figured it would be useful to know.
Especially as it would appear on the face of it to be a little birdy un friendly beast in need of a slight modification.

Secondly

Are there any known faults for the FL2?
I've searched faults and get page after page of FL1 faults

grille glued into front bumper, so not easy to remove, as to rest, a lot of cluches replaced under warranty and contribution, some steering rack faullts, mostly sorted under warranty, and now some auto box faults coming to light because lr have got the calibration wrong

Thanks Freelance.

So stopping it trapping small birds is going to be trickyerer than I bargained for!

I know very little about auto boxes but I'm guessing calibrating is no simple job?

No suggestions re birds I'm afraid. The FR2 seems to be a generally reliable beast (mine is brill so far). Most of the faults are fairly small niggles or covered under warranty/recall. Main moans seem to be clutch problems (mainly down to flywheel rather tha clutch, but pricey), a few auto box moans probably covered by software upgrades, and the DPF on recent models (again there's a software upgrade. Oh, and the non-electric drver's seat height adjuster won't stay up. Again can be replaced/maybe fixed under warranty.

Drove a RRSport at LR Experience today - I'd prefer the FR2 anytime.

Yup as much as it pains me to say it. I was impressed with the FL2.
Before I get more offers of wasps caught I wouldn't swap my Defender for one but the missus would swap her 2.25 TDCi mondeo because the FL2 was that good on road. She was even confident enough in it to drive round the off road bit


The fly in the ointment for me right now is not that the car sold itself I was super impressed with Landrover for that. It's been ironicly Landrover PR stunt on here. The we will help you but privately as long as you come to us. Such a shame

but lr do help out when you really need them to, so long as you don't go bemoaning to all and sundry, which is why there is an 11 plate sd4 on my drive after my four year old fl2 auto decided to stop on a roundabout, and resisted all attempts to move under its own power.

imo they are trying to buy loyalty to the land rover brand, whatever problems you have they want you to keep choosing and buying land rover, the more lr vehicles you have owned, the more they want to help sort out the problems, had to list vehicles and reg no.s, etc to get my contribution offer.
