i dont think so i would use mtf94 or dexron 2 or 3

Same manaufacture & similar multi-grade, MTF94 is/was supplied to the old Rover group who badged it as MTF94.
All the major oil companies do a MTF.

MTF is somewhere in between gear oil and ATF.

all in know is that Hondas love MTF, and the gearbox is terrible on plain gear oil.

Rover the same obviously.

Very much doubt it. You can use MTF 94 in Disco gearboxes instead of ATF which is what was originally specified.

This is MUCH thinner than gear oil, which you would put in transfer box, diffs and swivels. Just checked the manual and for these it should be 75W/90 (or meet API GL5 spec).

I doubt it as well, why would Texaco or any other company produce an MTF which has a different spec to gear oil if gear oil with similar SAE will do, unless it's one of those marketing ploys I hear about.

I said somewhere in between, as in a bit of both.

Some people on the Honda scene make their own MTF, by mixing gear oil with ATF. Works out a lot cheaper when you're dumping it after each track session I guess.

Not 100% on it but my Type R was very very picky about its gearbox oil.
