Is possible to fit a disco 2 double carden propshaft to a 300 tdi. Would I have to change both flanges on the axle and transfer box?.

yes and you need to just change t/box front flange easy enough job one 30mm socket

I have one on mine. As the man above says, just change the t/box flange for the td5 one. I think I got mine off ebay for around £30.

I have a new TD5 front prop, which I bought for another Disco. I am pleased to hear that I can keep it as a possible spare for my 300tdi, but, What would be the advantage to this? (apart from the obvious one of already having the prop).

not a lot unless you need a prop that can cope with greater angles
