Hi Guys
I thought i'd see what this baby can do and blow away the cobwebs so i put her in sport and foot to the floor, got to about 3-4000rpm and there was a kind of vibrating feeling, not severe but just wondered if it's normal or not?? only notice when you give her some stick, almost like a chain grumbling or something??? weird

also it rained hard the other day and I got a bit of water coming in the throttle pedal area, can't see where this is coming from, is there an easy fix? blocked drain hole or something??

srs light came on today, red srs, what does that mean??

you can check prop ujs out put bearings for play etc and also drain some oil out of t/box and gear box, a worn component should show up with metal sheen ,try it through gears with t/box in neutral may help as chain isnt driven in neutral

Take a look at the seal on the pollen filter cap for the water leak. Or the drain in the corner of the scuttle for being blocked.

The SRS (supplementary restraint system) light means that there is a problem with your airbags, and they may fail to work in the event of an impact.

Land Rover suggest they're replaced every 10 years, so they're probably past their best if they haven't been done. It's an MOT fail too I think so you should find out why it's on.

I've never heard of an old airbag causing an SRS fault light. More usually this is a bad connection, yellow plugs under the seats are favourite, or the rotary connector behind the steering wheel I believe.

HOWEVER

Before you go playing with airbag wiring be very sure that you know what you're doing, dangerous things airbags.

As for the lifespan of them, you're quite correct. Now SHUT UP, if this ever makes it into an MOT we're all fooked.

Best you look at this then. Srs is a fail this year. MOT changes from 2012 | AA

Try keeping the gear in neutral and rev. If you still get the vibration you've just just narrowed it down to the engine and its mountings and can stop worrying about transmission or suspension.

How do i put the transfer box in neutral and go through the gears? when I put it in drive or select a gear it all goes!??

I did have a look the other day but couldn't see a drain hole, can I get to it without having to take the engine out!!! are there any pics on here of it? I'll have a look when it eventually stops bloody raining!

p.s done my halfshaft oil seal yesterday and rear diff oil changed, so fingers crossed that won't leak again!

To see the drain you will have to remove the pollen filter casing. There should be a drain hole at each end of the scuttle.
