Hi,
What's the weight of the clutch meant to be like, mine feels heavy, but this is my 1st freelady. The bite is very low, so don't see it being a worn clutch. (Its a TD4 S 2005 facelift model, with 21k on the clock)

When in reverse and clutch hard down you do get some creep movement on the flat, and engaging gear is a bit tight, but then again it is a landy?

Any suggestions, or do I expect to end up with one thigh bigger than the other over time

Does sound like yer clutch is on the way out unfortunately, low biting point, heavy and creeping are all symptoms.
You could check to see if its got and auto adjuster on the pedal thats stuck or if its manual adjustment see if there is any left on the cable

Had the same problem. This happen after fitting a new clutch kit. You have to start at the gearbox and work your way up. The shaft that operates the clutch fork becomes very sticky which in turn causes strain on the slave cylinder bracket when you apply the clutch. The bracket bends which means that the shaft from your slave cylinder is pushing at an angle now. You have to loosen the clutch fork first by applying some penetrating oil to it. Not the easiest job. Also check the condition of the bracket on your gearbox. My clutch pedal wasnt in line with the brake pedal so replaced the pin with a longer one. You have to do some modifications there. Gears does not grind when the hippo is hot or cold and the clutch takes in the middle.

Ta, Can't see any cables, its hydraulic and rigid bar transfer.
I've worked up from the box giving it all a good lubricating.
I'll run arround for a few days and see how it goes, but on first feel there is already an improvement.

Hi,
Clutch been a lot lighter since giving all the visible bits a good lube, plus some bits that are there out of site, but still low bite point.
Not a problem for now though, makes great towing with such a low bite, easy on the thigh n calf (Good name for a country pub that!!!!)

a was gettig a bit paranoid about my clutch cause the biting point was high, do you recon its got plenty of life left on it
