Have just come from the Landrover garage, they say the IRD, viscous coupling and propshaft bearing needs doing, have been quoted £1800+, can anyone tell me if the is a hard job to do???

depends on whos doing it , what equipment and the rescorces you have , with a £1800 + bill its certainly an incentive to have a go yourself
if its just bearing replacement its the time and cost of new bearings £150 tops i would guess,

but if you buy new
IRD = £725
VC = £370
rear diff = 375

not sure what year or engine you have ,but its all pretty basic mechanics when your just replacing parts its a lot easier and quicker than stripping down and changing out bearings,
