Hello everybody,

Hi, I'm new to the land rover range rover thing having had jags for the past 10 years, I now have a 94' p38 diesel manual.
Anyhow.. the interior lights won't go out!
they stay on as they should when you close the door and then just go dim instead of going out (even when locked), unless...... the ignition is switched on and then they will go out!! also the clock only works when the ignition is on.
please could any of you help ?
Thanks in advance.

Thats an odd one!!

The interior lights are controlled by the omni-present BeCM (body Electrical Control Module) it is a suspicion that it has lost its way somewhere and needs to be shoved back on path.....

Regretfully, the only way to tell is to plug the thing into a diagnostic machine - one of the 'Full Fat' ones like a Faultmate Extreme or Testbook, which will give you ultimate control over all the cars systems and services.

A dodgy earth leakage from a nearby circuit *could* be at fault, but if you say they go out when the ignition is on, then that is unlikely, but with a look.
