took the 110 for a trundle down a private road last night and ive noticed a metal on metal rubbing noise as i let off the accelerator, im thinking gearbox release bearing, but is it worth doing the UJ's first? 1991 110 csw

Did you remember to put the dog into the back of the landy or was he still tied to the tow hitch?? That could be the sound of his leash??

had a problem just like you on 90 and it was rear prop joint at diff got new one fitted solved

Do you have a wheel wobble? Most of the time that's the tell tale that your UJ's are shot.
Might rule out some potential problems for you, but I'm not 100%

Ah I've got this problem as well and its been doing my head in. Can't for the life of me think what it is so any help would be appreciated. Certainly sounds as if its coming from around the gear/transfer box area but I could be mistaken
