I put a second hand dash instrument light panel in my 1990 Defender 110 Pick up. All works well and looks good. But was surprised when the heated rear windscreen light came on this weekend (what a joke!). Turns out the indicator light is actually in a different place from my original panel and what is flashing is actually the low fuel light! Didnt realise they were different!
Any easy way of sorting this. Can the wires be taken out and put in different positions in the loom plugs anyone know?

Pop the small light panel out - there will be some additional wires connecting some of the warning lights. Check that they are connected to the correct symbol.

Think from the last time I had my dash out the majority of the warning lights work off a couple of multi-connectors

Not sure how easy it would be to rewire these, but guess you could cut and rejoin the wires feeding into it - bullet connectors might be a bit bulky, so perhaps a soldering iron job? That way you wouldn't need to splice extra wire length in

NO WAY!! I have just bought another cluster to replace my busted one. i thought this would be a straight swap over for sure. wrong again:doh:
