finally got rnd to taking me intercooler out today and giving it a clean,no leaks but a lot of black oily ****e came out..gonna wait for it to dry and refit and see if its helped..

white spirit it cleaned it a treat

That looks nice gloop, probably down to all that heavy breathing your engine does

its still on goin.....making slow progress just eliminating things along the way

, I washed mine out with petrol , drained out the excess then set fire to it to get the rest out

, ( air line in one end helps loads

)

I'm going to do mine soon as it is full of oilly gunk. Just wondered how long you gotta let it dry out.

yep overnight worked a treat especially with this weather!! just make sure it's definatly dry before re-install

I used busters guide, exactly the same for a 300tdi
