Recently I had a problem with my BCU and replaced it with a second hand unit, hoping the recorded mileage would be around the 96000 mile mark, which is what the dash displayed at the time. Unfortunately it had 158,000 on it and of course over wrote the reading on the dash.

So off I went to a 'mileage correction specialist' to put things back as they were, and this where all my woes began! Basically whilst I drove home the rev counter suddenly shot right over as far to the right as it could go and stayed there, with the needle pointing towards the floor! Ocassionally it did sort of work again, but not with a smooth sweep.

After the rev counter incident I noticed that the following did not 'bulb check' when turning the ignition key: SLS, ACE, Manual Mode & Sport Mode. All these are in the lower left quadrant, oddly, the HDC Failure, Charge Indicator & Oil Pressure all illuminate.

I've swapped out the clocks, twice, and eventually ended up with a rev counter that works properly, but the warning lamps have never lit since.

Sorry it's War and Peace, but I'm at a loss as having gone through three sets of clocks I still don't have the warning lamps back.

Thanks for taking the time to read.

The "mileage correction specialist" should have said you that it's not possible. If he interfiered in the system trying to reset it back he might have disturbed the BCU...god knows what he did there cos LR is built as to not be possible to reduce the mileage stored in the BCU or instrument pack...the system always assumes the higher mileage
