I am taking my Landy on expedition and would like to add some security to it. Does anyone have any advice on some sort of basic immobilizer i could install? Some kind of fuel cut off? Has anyone done something like this? Are there aftermarket kits? My landy is a 1989 Defender 119 2.5TD.

You could get a car audio shop to install an immobilizer, cost approx £120, may lower the insurance a bit.

Actually the Landy is not in the UK. It is located in rural Argentina. So whatever work needs to be done, i need to do it myself. I am interested what sort of immobilizers people have rigged up. Like a fuel cut off hidden switch or something.

You could try adding your location, it may help me not to bother in future.
