Any suggestions why not? Seems odd to my simple mind that neither indicator will self cancel... Maybe something to live with....?

Mine don't work either, never had since I got the disco. I found that there is a plastic tab on the back of the steering wheel that had broken.

For me, it's either a new wheel or just live with it. Had it long enough to live with it without thinking these days.

Yep thanks, kinda figured it'd be something like that, a bit awkward at present, having wipers that won't park and indicators that dont cancel - going round corners in drizzle means I run out of hands/fingers.........:D Got to fix at least one of 'em I think!

A had an citron gsa speical once an it never even had self cancelling stalks, just a puni little switch!!!! fookin ****e design...:D

Its either the tab on the steering wheel thats snaped off or the plastic ring that remains when you remove the wheel. I think you have to line the plastic ring up with the tab on the steering wheel or sumat like that.

Piece of cake - there's a kit you can get very cheaply from a dealer to replace the broken plasic ring. No need for a new steering wheel.

Ta very much, do you have a link or the name of a place I could buy such a kit? Never got round to sorting this!

We done.. that man, with this info I had a look in my parts book and NTC3853 Ring-self cancelling that's for the steering wheel upto Vin LA081991.

After that is a bit of kit with wires STC2910 Kit-indicator trip/slip ring

That's the ones. I got mine from my local Landy dealer - Rockingham Landrovers - but I imagine your local guys will be able to source it. Mine came with the wires included in it but I didn't need them.
