Reet...thinking of getting one of these..new or used...as my high beam contact seems to have given up.

landrover defender indicator complete stalk on eBay (end time 25-Feb-11 16:39:22 GMT)

Is it a simple case of removing the steering cowling and wheel then slipping this onto the column with a retaining screw?

pretty much yeah, nice 10min job as long as your wheel comes off easy

easy job, if you buy it new tho the indicator/light stalk is a seperate part to the wiper stalk and the little light on off stalk.

the indicator/light stalk is the biggest part as it is the part that slides over the steering colum and to which the other stalks attach.

LANDROVER DEFENDER INDICATOR HORN DIP SWITCH - STC439 on eBay (end time 07-Mar-11 13:38:07 GMT)

thats the bit you need, then you just tranfer the wiper stalk to the new one (screws onto the metal bit that goes over sterring colum)

Ah right, cheers...have seen quite a few, best check my chassis number out cos it looks like theres various types of wiring connections depending on the year..looks easy enough as long as i get the same connections....and the steering wheel can be persuaded off..

He's got 2 mate, one from a td5 and one from a 300tdi...which one you want?

They both fit, its just a case of which connections you have..a bullet pack or 3 different leads..it isnt a big job to bodge the wiring together...just easier if it fits direct on...reckon i'm gonna go after the 300tdi one as my landy is so early..i need to bodge whichever one i get

No mate..mine went for 13, yours for just 6!

On the bright side..my lights started working again last night

On the down side..i had total electric failure this morning

So now i'm going to the pub, that ought to fix it :doh:
