Am replacing the fuel pump/sender unit thats located in the fuel tank, is there a trick to removing the big red locking ring without destroying it in the process. I dont want to but the 'special' LR tool just for this one little job

I knocked mine round with an ommer and blunt driver

a britpart unit is about 95
bearmach/allmakes is 120
LR 230 ish

i chose the bearmach/allmakes one, just waiting to be told its arrived

I used a big ommer and a length of wood 22mmx18mm about 300mm long no problems.

Big hammer and a lump of wood - gentle tapping and it comes off easy as pie.
