Well, I'm guessing the heater matrix is the problem.
LR quoted parts plus £100 per hour, probably 3 hours, although everyone else says 6 hours so that's a grand for them to do it!
I know I can buy one for around £200 but I'm not keen on performing major heart surgery myself.
I've seen some positive comments about RadWeld and no negative ones, so I was hoping for a bit of input here.

I actually do have a Haynus, but tbh I was a tad disappointed with the content. I remember when those manwells used to tell you how to do useful stuff, like adjust the timing, etc
Anyway the crossword on the back is good so no worries.
Alternatively, is there an easy way to temporarilly bypass the heater matrix so I dont have to get it fixed so urgently?

Not tried it, but disconnecting the feed pipes under the bonnet then using a suitable diameter pipe to fix them together could work.
This would effectively bypass the hm.

Plus I'm the only one in the office, so why not!
I did what was suggested and bypassed the heater matrix.
Anyway, some time later I noticed another pool of water in the driver's side, which made me think a bit.
Then when I braked, I felt something dripping. The spare coolant reservoir which for some reason is located above the driver's head was leaking! (I think some people call this a "sun roof")
So, just for ****s and giggles I removed the heater bypass, and hey the heater works fine with no leaks!
Plus I'm the only one in the office, so why not!
