Is there no one with a '97 Defender who can answer the question posed in the Eureka immobilser thread?

I have a 96 CSW that has the original LR alarm and immobiliser but fraid I have never heard of one called eureka. You might want to conta t the previous owner from the v5 doc to see if they have any documentation on it

The Eureka is an aftermarket fit. I think the insurance company wants to know the model fitted by Land Rover in the factory.

Can they not just ask land rover, surely they will have all that info.

When I insured mine they were happy with it being the stock LR alarm and immob, I don't think there is a model no as such as there were no other options for it

if its a thatcham category issue then just make sure the eureka ones thatcham approved. i had a similar issue on my beemer. the factory fit was thatcham approved but i had a signum aftermarket one on there as the guy who had it before me wanted a full closure one but as long as it was thatcham approved the insurance comp were happy.
