Its v hot here at mo. but we had a wet winter and the well's held out amazingly this year. Its on a timer so it runs at the same time every day and there's a level control so that the pump can't run dry, which ever turns it off first. We haven't run out of water this year yet and i have used about 15,000 lt on the veg plot so far, thunder storm's predictions for next week end with about 50mm fingers crossed if not delivery from the fire bregad, and I don't smell yetnot bad for just rainwater
You do get complacent when you have water on tap, we spent 5k on drilling 10yrs ago but no luck ,the veggies just get enough to keep them going till the next rain August is supposed to be a wet month for us but not so far Thursday is forcast thunderstorms with 65mm hopefully, water delivery has increased here to cost is €145,00 and 2 beers for the firemen for a full load 12 m/3 so not to bad , do you pump it from a bore hole up to a tank ?,Its v hot here at mo. but we had a wet winter and the well's held out amazingly this year. In the past 15 minutes a day max has been normal, by the end of last summer we were only getting 6 mins per day and I measured that at a pitiful 170 litres per day. Since spring this year we've been getting 20 mins/400 litres per day and only the last couple of weeks has that declined to just under 18 mins per day. We haven't run out yet although one tank is almost empty.
A relief since we spent nearly €1000 on tanker lorries last year.
I woke up early this morning, as usual, and could swear I smelled burning. Not funny at all.You do get complacent when you have water on tap, we spent 5k on drilling 10yrs ago but no luck ,the veggies just get enough to keep them going till the next rain August is supposed to be a wet month for us but not so far Thursday is forcast thunderstorms with 65mm hopefully, water delivery has increased here to cost is €145,00 and 2 beers for the firemen for a full load 12 m/3 so not to bad , do you pump it from a bore hole up to a tank ?,
And then it's the worries of Forrest fire's had one last year 20klm away and that's to close for comfort depending on the wind
Had prawns fer tea last nite. Wassa bit risky as eye dun't normally do sea food unless its got bread crums onnit. Keep seeing them in sainsberrys so got some. Web said yer can't cook from frozen. Defrost int fridge over nite. Cook int microwave in short pulses and stir between. We done that and they dint turn to rubba. They were ok burreye couldn't help finking chicken tastes betterer and a lot less risk. Am glad eye made it frew the nite. They may be out me system now or very close. Worst bit were knowing eye hassa stake assa backup. Said stake un chips have just finished cooking fer lunch.
We've talked about shoplifting here a good deal. I see the latest advice from the policing minister is not to put high value items near the front of the shop
because 'obviously people will nick' them.
