....that I did some more tinkering with the Mini. :)
It is clearly an obsession. I watched a really informative YT clip (below) on reading spark plugs and I could not resist hoiking mine out to have a look. I did not know that you could determine +/- timing from where the burn line is on the earth-strap of the plug for a start. As a result I have advanced the static timing a tad (as everything springs from that static setting). I took her out for a short sporty run and it was all fine. I am about to pull the plugs again and have a look.

The stuff about reading the bottom of the porcelain inside the plug I knew about and it was in the link I sent you, more or less, but the timing line? Never heard of that.
What I was a bit surprised about was that he didn't tell you, when fitting a plug, is to always fit it so that the strap is to the outside of the cylinder. TBH it normally does that as plugs are supposed to do that straight out of the box, but it is always worth marking the plug on the outside so you can make sure it is lined up properly.

Nevertheless, interesting.
It makes me want to pull a plug on W's car which is all electroniced up to see if what he says is there on her plugs. 🤣

Good to hear W coming back, get you back into the proper rountine you have seemed a little lax lately :D.

Hope all is better and sorted this time.

LAX! Huh!
You should have seen me spring cleaning the place over the past few days. Still got the living room to finish off, you can see your face in the granite worktops!

As for if it is better and sorted, well yep, I hope so, she does, and all her family and friends do. Thanks for the kind thoughts.
Shame she always has to do a BOGOF when it comes to surgery.
