The question we are going to ask is that as they have had her in their care for 6 days how come it is only AFTER the procedure that they start trying to determine what precise AB will knock the infection out. Surely as they have been changing the dressings (so they say) there was ample opportunity to have this lab-work done in advance and the infection already under control?

Totslly agree, even a practice nurse can take a swab.
