But i bought a Freelander 1 off Ebay (yeah I know), but I've bought other cars no problem.

My main car is a new Mitsubishi ASX 4, but wanted an older tough knockabout car and thought freelander would fit bill and save me having to worry about dog/bikes/kids etc messing up the Mitsi.

Also wanted one with an LPG conversion so snapped up a 1.8 for a reasonable sum that had what was described as a slight knock, from drive. Bit like describing hurricane Katrina as a light breeze! anyway managed to coax it home 88 miles during which time slight knock became more akin to world war 2 under the car (had no choice but to drive it home). So now I guess its IRD and VCU and whatever else needs doing.

Will be needing advice on sourcing replacement units and any other common issues.

Regards Peter.

I've just spent 5 months doing up a dodgy eBay buy to get it back to a reasonable standard to sell. It's been a total nightmare daily driver, and I reckon I've lost about 1.5k all in.

If it's an unknown car, it could be hiding a world of other issues. My advice would be to get it sold as spares or repairs now, take the financial hit, put it down to experience, and move on to other options with tighter history! Plenty more fish in the sea and all that!
