Get on to ebay and do a search. You'll be looking for a very early series 3 or a series 2a. Not very much difference between em really. You should be able to get a useable one for 1500 quid or less but bear in mind they are going to be very old, expensive to run and need plenty of maintenance. Getting the road tax for nowt is insignificant really.

Another one with this tax exempt obsession thing? Like Hughesy said, they're gunna be old motors. Unless you particularly want a 2a or early III get a later III in the best nick you can.
If you stop hunting for a tax exempt motor you'll have a helluva lot more to choose from, then with luck you'll spend less money on major maintenance and save yourself more than a bit of road tax.

If you are handy with a spanner then look at a early 2a (All series 2 are tax free) these are a good compromise as most of the parts are cheep and easily obtainable.
Plus the 2a is the quintessential Landy and reckon to be the best looking but then again I’m biased (See my details).
