Hi all.... just wondering if anyone can just give me a bit if advice.... I'm not by any stretch of the imagination a mechanic but I love to give it ago... anyway... I've had a few landrover n always found the answers n gained the advice I needed from here n managed just fine n always kept the old girls on the road.... my latest toy is a series 2 discovery td5 auto.... here's my problem n all my own doings I know... the rear crank seal had gone on her and she was leaking life fluid at a fair rate... so with my give it ago attitude I proceeded and lifted the engine out... fit the new crank seal and various other seals and gaskets as I went... put it all back together refit the engine and she started winner... or so I thought....no drive in any gear or reverse... so I've read may of the threads on here n after a lot of head scratching I realised my mistake was fitting the torque converter to the engine and not the transmission... what's the chances my transmission will have survived? She's only been run for about 3-5 mins since I put her back together and the engines back on the lift ready to pull again... am I better looking for another transmission now and putting it down to an expensive lesson learnt or should I pull her out refit amd align the tc correctly put her back together and prey and hope? Thanks in advance Dan
