I add an eppi-fanny lass nite as regards me freeloader, so, fore I start ordrin clutch parts wus thinkin could it be summin te do wi front drive mech ie... all gears engage smoothly, theres no slipping, an it only clicks-grumbles'n'scrapes when I accelerate (gently or hard) wen I lift off it stops ! (grumblin an scrapin tat is) so wus wondrin tissit todo wi drive mech de ye finks ??? Oh, an dont start gettin all ettup an sayin its bin covered in 2006 by wassis name eeh as all the answers n jus all go an look... so was juss wondrin if me eppi-fanny might mek sense to somone els anna sides o'which am not a mechemistry minded wi four wheels !

I had a noise a bit like that but more of a scrapey shish shish type of noise which disappeared when I shut off or drove steady.
Turned out to be the front prop U Js were both dry (no grease) and falling to bits. They were rusty and worn out.
Park up with hand brake off and out of gear, get the wife to lie in front in case it rolls away, then get underneath and twist the props by hand and lift them up and down. If the joint is goosed then you will see a lot of movement.
Retrieve wife from under front wheels and send her to make a brew:D :D
