My landrover 2A diesel has recently started hunting and stops dead after about 5 mins, is it likley to be fuel or air?. It speeds right up just before it stops

I am no expert,had a petrol car that used to hunt but that was the timing.I would think a fault with the fuel system,someone who knows will be along shortly.

air, IIRC they can be a pig to bleed.

think i used to vacuum pump on the spill pipe or tow start it when i've fiddled with the pump..

has the op ran out of juice recently or fiddled?

Hi, no its not run out of fuel but I have put some in just before it started with the problem

does it start straight up when cold/warm.

i would have said it sounds like the fuels getting lean, maybe lift pump/filters are clogged?

you need to have a good check of stuff and report back what's happening and what's in good condition
