Nice looking motor, but why would anyone in their right mind pay anything like the estimated auction price. You can get a far superior fully sorted late model P38 for five or six grand maybe less. Early Range Rovers were a crap drive anyway.

It's the old story, anything is only worth as much as a buyer is prepared to pay for it.
An '88 Classic sold for £42k at auction last year, never saw a picture of it but it was described as condition 2+

Probably had cloth seats with lady Diana's juice on them.

I completely agree. I also think, might be wrong, that buying an 'ok vehicle and doing it up, would cost a lot less.

Should have been Concours for that money, still prefer a P38 though.

Personal choice I guess, if you like the idea of owning a four wheel drive computer
The P38 is not that bad, failures of the electronics are mostly due to O ring failure and other water problems IMO. Keep the inside dry and it all hangs together, unlike the L322 which really is a 4WD computer.

It's a trade off IMO.

With the classic you have to master the welder and spanners

With the P38 you have to master a Nanocom and spanners :D

When compared to the L322 and beyond the P38 is quite simple.

I'm ok with the second one, sadly mine was written off 2yrs ago, not my fault, will get another when funds allow.
