i've got this work done, on my defender 90,

MOT test,
remove & replace front shock absorbers,
replace viscous fan assembly,
replace worn steering damber bush,
replace worn o/s/f dadius rod bushes,
replace worn rear antiroll bar bushes

o and, UNBELIEVABLY!! my front & rear propshafts were found to have been fitted THE WRONG WAY AROUND! so they were changed over

how much d'ya reckon this work will ave cost me

my mechanic is a pretty honest fella, but not got inboice through yet for the work, and would like to hav sum help to how many weeks pay its gonna swallow!

Ah suppose it depends on where he buys the replacement parts and what he charges per hour. Why didn't ye just do the jobs yerself?

Ah didn't know what ah was doin' when a got mine, soon learned after ah got a nice bill from the garage!! Get a manual and maybe use some of the stuff off this site. It's not really that hard.... honest;) :D And if ye get stuck with summit... just ask;) :D :D
 
rekon its the fear of reet knackerin somethin and makin it worse than before i had a crack!i'l take th plunge soon though, wiv this CREDIT CRUNCH we're all apparently in't middle of!d'ya ave a guess of ow many hours that work would resonably take?mot was £45, and front shock labour and parts was also £45.
 
VERY ROUGHLY workin' it out, ah reckon ye'll not be a kick in the erse of £450-£500 with parts and labour:eek: ;) :D
 
Takin' into account the price for mot and shox, the parts maybe come in around £204-ish and possibly 7hrs labour around £210- ish
 
yup - I'm wiv Buster.

If he's good and experienced, he might have done it a bit quicker, so labour might be a bit less.
Assume £500, but be pleasantly surprised if it's less.
 
ah i like to be on the higher side and then be pleasently suprised!christ cud be more!!!!!!!!bloody pays to be mechanically minded aint it!
