Im going to be sortign a few things on my disco in the next week or so

Cambelt, water pump, decat, egr removal and boost tweek.

Now iv had the car a few weeks and wanted to see what mpg i got standard to compare to after wards, appears to be 450-500 (still going at 430 just above red), when i first got her i took her on motor way and let the revs build up befor gear change and there was alot of soot coming out the back, it seems ok now only does it abit under harsh acceleration

Now my main question is how much smoke is too much and what's allowed (accepted)

Oh its a 95 d1 300tdi 110k

my disco has had the pump tweaked and i must admit for a 2oo tdi it is pretty damm quick,but the downside is when you boot it it does bellow out black smoke,which if i remember is basically unburnt fuel
im thinking of turning the pump back down a bit im not sure yet

Afik diesels if properly tuned should only smoke black on hard acceleration and never heavily. On constant load ie cruising they should be clean.

thats how mine is at minute then so il aim to keep her this way
