me and some mates are planning a weekend trip for the end of october/beginning of november. were looking to spend a weekend doing off roading/camping.
just how technical is this green lane?
and does the landy need to be kitted, or is it possible in a standard defender 90 on mud terrains.

it is a very good lane. you would do it in a standard defender as long as there had not been much rain before hand, but well worth doing

The first (only) time I drove it, admittedly 20 years ago, I was in a standard SIII on 205x16 Avon Rangmasters. The other vehicles in the group were a pair of Classic RRs on aggressive(for the time) tyres and a Ninety, I don't remember what on. It was a wet weekend about April, so quite deep, but presumably nothing on this weekend.
Incidentally on the southern ford mine was the only vehicle not to show a tendency to float, as the back instantly filled with water!

I was there 2 weeks ago. In my opinion you could do it in a standard without a snorkel as long as its not flooded (which it probly is at the moment!)
