How easy is it to change the alternator on my disco td5 as mine seems to not be charging my new battery I've just fitted so more expense ffs

Depends if you have the mechanical skills then 'easy'.
Those who don't seem to rely on the Land Rovers workshop manual (Rave) the best they can, there are download links already in the forum for the manual.

its not the simplest ,the oil return for the vac pump can be difficult as its very short, and youll need someone to hold the bottom securing bolt nut at the rear as its not secure in its slot and will likely fall out or cross thread as you try and start the bolt, i remove fan ,belt and tensioner plus rad cowl
