I want to put some second hand replacement plastic door pockets on the inside of the driver and passenger doors of my 96 300 however the problem is getting the inside of the door off without smashing the plastic surround of the opening handle?

There are two screws under the main fixed handle and one behind the cover you mentioned. Whip 'em out. take the speaker out. Grab a corner of the door card and gradually pull, the clips will eventually give and the card comes off.

Cheers Bud I am mechanically naïve and I bought this old Disco as a bit of a project over the summer ive just stripped a knackered Disco out of all of the bits of trim etc mine doesn't have. im a bit heavy handed so I will take my time

You can expect to break some of the clips but they are cheap on ebay. If any studs pull out of the door card, whack in some glue from a glue gun and then liberally cover the surrounding area.

The card will take quite a bit of force to get it moving.

Also I find it easier personally to start removing the door card from along the bottom
