Do you have a hole for a switch in the cowling?

There is no obvious place where a switch is missing. Actually, I was wondering how it keeps passing its MOT because if I can't find the switch then I was wondering how they checked I had a fog light!

Sorry, I don't recognise any of those parts. It's all far too shiny and new. Where is the 27 years of abuse?

We don't usually abuse newbies for that long but since yer asking........:p

Oh.... that's not what ya meant.:D

Oh, I love abuse. That's why I go to work, remain married and have all these kids. You guys have no idea what's abuse is, believe me.

It was a genuine question, just thought it was worth asking before I went to the trouble of ripping open the dash to look for it.

Have you had a looksie at yours now to see if you have the offening article in situ or if there is a hole where it ought to reside?

OK>..Mine is 27 yo also.....and has the type of switch shown...albeit somewhat abused...Yours obviously doesn't...so....can we assume that you don't have a third setting on the main light switch? you have checked the indicator stalk? and the rear window switch doesn't have dual purpose? :)

or that you don't have a hidden switch on the right and under the speedo binacle.

Mine is a 1985 CSW. I have A short stalk on the left that does riding lights and head lights but no similar stalk on the right. I do have three rocker switches down by my right knee. One is hazards, one turns on dash lights or internal light or both off and the third is the rear window heater.

There is no obvious switch for the rear fogs or else I would not be asking!

On mine the 3 rocker switches are, heated rear window, fog lights and hazard lights.
I would have thought your dash illuminations should come on with the side lights and the interior light should have a separate switch on it as part of the light fitting. If that switch is an "off, on, on" switch then maybe it should be for front and rear fogs???

mines fogs-heated rear screen (not working rubish)- hazards

maybe a few pics of you dash would help?

Why not pop back to the mot place and ask them? :p
