The gas destroys Ozone i think or the old stuff used to. But you would have to empty a lot of aircon systems to destroy as much as each and every space probe or satellite launch does. So in the great plan of things it is neither here nor there to be honest.:);)

Didn't they used to say that about fridges;):)

Yes they did. But i think you would need to empty a few fridges to destroy what the space shuttle apparently got through destroying on each launch. Ozone is made by thunder storms, we aren't likely to run out any time soon. Anyway it's not something you want to be near, highly toxic and corrosive. The hole in the ozone layer was only found fairly recently when they put something up there to measure it. It may always have been there to some degree.

Agreed, and when they start putting a tax on all the weapons that have been fired in the last century+ and stop blaming "4x4's" for their CO outputs then perhaps we can take them seriously. But we can still do our bit, can we not;):D

If the government started planting some trees to absorb CO2 with the tax money i could live with it. I am surrounded by trees so am pretty close to being CO2 neutral so they can sod off as far as i am concerned. I'll start being green when the Chinese, Indians and most other large industrial nations do. Why cripple the country with green taxes when our total output is minute. We are cutting our own throats and the tree huggers are over the bloody moon about it. I agree with the Aussie prime minister on this.
