but r lass got a company car with free fuel.. its a 10 plate astra 5 door, but the boot is full of her work crap.. :)

do ya rekon i can get the gearbox on the back seat?

not easy to get an idea of its size from crawlin under mine, and done clutch on mine but just slid box back on a trolley jack.. :)

how hard is it gonna be to get it on the back seat?

wot he says, and it`ll stink yer mrs car out too....

just think how you struggled to move your trolley laden wiv gearbox,
then think how you`ll have to dead lift all that into a poxy ashtray back seat.....

ya best bet is decrap the boot, fold the seats down, sheet it out, get help to put in into ashtray,
and hope its ass dont scrape the floor too much...

bein kind to mates is an honest thing, but being stupid is anover fing me old matey...........:)

eh, whats the problem. A gearbox, transfer box and bellhousing will go in most saloon boots, let alone a hatchback (push her crap out). I've done it enough times. Trying to get it on the rear seat will end in tears and a bad back tho I think. Take toolage to whip the gear lever off if its still on.

split transfer box from gearbox piece of **** then. just make sure ya replace the bolts in the transfer box cos one of em ****es oil out if ya don't.

looking more like a trip with the disco..

not bothered about her car smelling of transmission fluid, but rippin seats would put me in the bad books just before xmas..

dam cold in the dog house this time of year..

i bought a v8 engine from a fella and i turned up with a peugeot partner van . thought i was pushing it - we got it in.

fella regales me with a tale of a lad who turned up with a nova hatchback to collect a v8.... and he got it in and drove to newcastle....

the box and engine together were 6ft 3inches - i just got it into my van !

would not want to be sticking a box on the back seat tbh..... empty the boot flatten the seats , stick a tarp down - and load/unload with engine crane .....

holy crap !!!!!!

thats the last time i offer to collect one of them!!!

nearly killed me!!

its now in the back of my disco, and i cant get it out with just my mrs for assistance..

knz better collect it before friday, i got load my dj gear in my disco for a gig...

They're not bad once split, I can carry them about by myself although with two makes it a lot easier for the gearbox half

Size wise, yes. But unless you put it in with an egine hoist, expect scratched car and a bad back!

I had enough on putting one in ky disco with 2 of us the other week.

well i dont think its gonna get collected anytime soon..

so i gotta get it out of my disco today..

so i'm gonna have to split the transfer box off to make it liftable..

i'm guessin i just undo the bolts holding the two together. when i do this is it gonna leak transmission fluid all over the back of my disco?

Open back door, rope around gear/trans box>tree>drive job done...load diso gear, earn wedge......
