Noticed my 90 is VERY warm inside unless you have the window open. I originally thought it was just the heat from the transmission / exhaust given it is tuned now. However I felt the heater ducts on top of the dash and they're blowing out hot air (output depends on how fast I am moving seemingly). The switch is set to cold and the fans off, but it still continues to throw it out. It's unbearable unless you wind the window down now. Dont know much at all about the heating system on a 90 as never had to fiddle with one. Could this be a thermostat issue?

Thanks.

won't be thermostat, just that the hot/cold cable isn't operating the flap correctly or is disconnected.

Open the bonnet - Look at the heater box - Get someone to move the heater controls up and down and you should see the cable moving a lever on the heater box.

Somebody complaining of a defender being to warm! now that's a first

Funnily enough the heater on my 90 is bloody brilliant in my opinion, I certainly don't get cold in the winter in mine!

Also, the hot air problem seemed to fix itself this evening. Will still have a look at the linkage tomorrow though.
