Hi all, could anyone tell me what this hose is? Just noticed today that it looks to be squeezed flat. I’m guessing it shouldn’t be like this! What issues could this cause?

Hi.
It's a power steering pipe.
that's its normal state.

Cheers, thought it might be stopping something vital getting through

It's flat so it acts as a noise damper.

I'm in the process of trying to replace my power steering pump with an electric one from an Astra/Zafira and noticed the flat pipe too. I thought it was something I'd done so very glad to spot this thread and that it's normal.
