I must be on my third flipping horn now in about a year. Pucker replacement jobbies but already latest one sounds like a fart in a tea cup. I think I keep drowning them.:eek:

I just bought a new "Aruugah" type horn but its too big to fit behind the grill.:confused:

Looking for some advice I you have it about the short life span of me horns and/or where to fit me new Aruugah :):)
 
look for one that you can field strip,they cant be that complicated inside,



Or roof mounted air horns :D Oh yes, big roof mounted mother loving air horns :D

Me and mate was talking about this last weekend at how pathetic the normal horns sound
So we both been looking at airhorn's just unsure on wiether they like being underwater or not so , air horns are good but i dont want mine on show

With almost all horns, air or electric the trumpet end should be angled downwards to prevent the ingress of water.

The temptation is to point them forwards, but when they're mounted under the bonnet and pointed downwards the noise output is virtually no different.
 
I bought a set of train horns from the States a few years back, allegedly the loudest horns you can buy. Trouble is I don't have the space to install the compressor nor the space to install the actual horns discreetly. Cost me over £300 for the set up and they've never been used apart from a test run one summer evening in the garden, the blast echoed around the hills for what seemed quite a while, they were ***** loud!

Update: Having looked at the video I see the horns are mounted under the rear of the vehicle, food for thought ;)

Aye, I get that mine is sideways and down (nautilus type horn) in original position behind the front grille by top of intercooler. Still getting drenched.
 
As said Nautilus.

If they are getting that wet stick them in a sealed bag or on the roof.
