was wonderin that, if i went for twin 12" fans would 1 keep me motor cool enough mosta the time? like i said earlier it always stays in middle of the guage at the mo but last thing i wanna do is cook me nearly new motor

It just means that the thermo switched fan would be running a little more often when at very slow speeds or standstill. The fan isn't needed at all when moving at speed.

ok, you've talked me into trying it, as soon as i get a chance i'm off to the scrappy with a few quid and a tape measure i cant wait to get rid of the big noisy viscous thingy

If you are limited for space or cannot find a suitable twin fan setup. The other option is to use a single fan behind the rad and a smaller condensor type fan on the outside of the rad.

hopefully i should be able to find a twin fan set-up that will fit, not sure if there's room on the outside of the rad coz of the air con rad?

Can't remember, picked it up from somewhere or other. Got a pair of them actually, the other is going on the Series 2. Not looking forward to the day I attempt to release the bonnet, and forget the fan is on! Its only a matter of time hehe.
