Help needed please... I just bought a landrover discovery 300 tdi..it's my second one because I love them...
drove it home today and parked it up for about an hour, went back to go out and it will not start, not the battery all lights come on at first key turn, but when key is fully turned to start it is just dead....

Any ideas?...
Thank you:)

look at the back of injection pump have you a single wire to it does it have 12v when ignitions on or click when touched on solenoid terminal , theres a white red wire on rear of ignition switch does it have 12v when keys turned to starting position , is there any clicking when you try and start it

Ok you will have to bear with me...the most ive managed to do with a car so far is use my tights as a fan belt...lasted about five mins...
ok.....there is a slow clicking on the passenger side of the car when the key is fully turned..

might help to charge battery first , and if using tights as a fan belt you just go round the water pump pulley

one more question thanks James.....if it is the battery that has drained...enough to not start it...can i jump start with a smaller car and ****ty cables...or would i have to use a large engine car and super strong cables....

yes if you leave car running and let the car charge disco battery for 15mins or so before trying disco on the key

That's what the Mrs said when she tried to drive my 300tdi auto, not realising it was left in gear:D:D:D

Sounds like battery losing a cell.so losing enough charge to not fire up.try a jump start or bump start. And report back.
