IMHO, Can be a useful tool , if used correctly, take care with it, understand how it works and how it can bite you. Have never needed to use mine in anger when out playing and only really carry it if I need to use it as a winch tool, which fingers crossed is never.

PS , the second photo shows the Hilift that is supplied with Barbies jeep. But it needs painting pink.

Always found them very useful. I don't usually use them for jacking vehicles, more for lifting boat engines, jacking timber buildings, short pull winching, that sort of thing.

They need regular maintenance with special attention paid to pins engaging properly while lowering under load.

They have fitted the washers so some one obviously cared!! But they don't fekin work yet
The snorkel isn't even plumbed into the airbox so it definitely doesn't work !! That was going to be one of my other questions down the line... water proofing!! But I will get the fecka running right before I take on any more jobs!! I've been tiling the bathroom for 3 year!! Easily distracted

Now I'm scared of the fekin thing! Lol!
Could I attach a housing or some sort of socket that it fits into.. I'm making rock sliders and with an adaption for the toe of the jack to locate into! Would that work!

It might help, and there is an adaptor for jacking Defenders in the standard jack holes. It isn't that great, you have to jack the body a long way to lift a wheel.
And some people knock their teeth out by not engaging the ratchet fully, so the handle snaps up under load.
Bottle or trolley jack is usually better for wheel changes.

As a test , I tried to lift mine on concrete using my 48 incher into the rock sliders. I gave up as there is no way I am going to attempt to lift the body that much just to change a tyre unless the reason is very exceptional, in which case TBH I will probably drive on the flat until I get to somewhere to use the std bottle jack.
